On a cold misty morning, Droitwich opened up their monthly Sunday Worcestershire Tournament.
There were 5 teams taking part which included Spa opponents Bromsgrove A & B and Kings Heath Pickwick.
Spa first game against Bromsgrove A was a bit like the weather, trying to clear the fogginess from their heads! Spa worked well as a team and had some good breakaway opportunities but Bromsgrove always appeared to have an extra player in the right place at the right time. The final score was 4-0.
Spa second game was against Bromsgrove B who appeared to be one of the best sides at the Tournament. Droitwich again tackled well, but found it difficult to construct attacks. and Bromsgrove B ran out winners.
Spa final game against Old Halesonians, team ethic was the most pleasing aspect, with players tracking and tackling back or making it more difficult for their opposition, but Spa weren't able to breach the defence, despite several opportunities being created on the break.
Over the last two Worcestershire Tournament, it shows that there is a good number of youngsters coming through the Spa ranks, with many other clubs recognising this, which is a pleasing aspect and will be taking place of the current first team....hopefully!!!
