3’s Win against Stourport 5’s

After last weeks narrow loss at Hampton, Droitwich men’s 3’s entertained Stourport 5’s. The game earlier in the season saw a narrow win for Stourport, so the opportunity was there for building on this. There was some early pressure from the visitors, needing Marc Chorley in the Droitwich goal to keep the shots out. Droitwich took the lead half way through the first half, with a Penalty Corner shot from Graham Purcell getting just past the Stourport keeper. It was then a period of intense pressure from the visitors up to half time, but Droitwich kept them at bay.
Second half was again an even game with both sides having chances, Droitwich’s came from Joey Skeats having his shot well saved. Droitwich second goal came from a similar move, Marcus Claytor sprinted through and drew the keeper and slipped it again to Joey Skeets, who this time was stopped from scoring by a defenders foot. The resulting Penalty Flick was then scored by Marcus Claytor.
The visitors rallyed and hit on back through a penalty corner leaving a nervy ten minutes for Droitwich to hang on for their 3rd win of the season.
