Droitwich Spa remain unbeaten in their last seven games and this was 5th win on the spin

Droitwich Spa looked to extend their unbeaten 6 match sequence as they had not tasted defeat sine the end of October.
This was an excellent advert for Badgers Hockey as the game was free flowing with both teams attacking.

Droitwich ended the victors with strikes from George Battin and John Phillips Spa leading marksmen at this level.
Away Team Bromsgrove started the quicker and played the ball around and created the first opportunity after 12 minutes but Marc Chorely was equal to it making a kicker save. However Spa grew into the game with Isadorra and George Hutchocks at the back beginning to dominate with their powerful tackling and hitting which pushed the away team back. This extra spack in the middle of the park allowed Sam Radford to dictate the play. Spa began to buidl pressure as Sam Radofrd won a free hit which Brormsgrove did not retreat the required distance and from the resulting Penalty Corner Spa failed to make them pay.

Spa next chance fell to Fenerando Prendville who was put throgh but 'grove keeper cleared the ball before the striker could get there. Spa continued to create pressure in the circle and from resulting Penalty Corners Bromsgrove had players sent to the half way line for breaking early but the homeside could not force the ball home.
Hoewever Spa began to give up possesion in key areas of the pitch and Bromsgrove had the next chance following an attack down the right bt the effort flew wide of the goal.

Spa opened the scoring with an attack down the right and ball was fired across the circle which flicked up off the defenders stick leaving George Battin to skilfully swat the shoulder height ball into the Bromsgrove net.

Followiing half time bromsgrove were determined to get he equalisr but their passing and control let them down at the crucial time. Early in the second half Bromsgrove striker was clean through and his shot beat Marc Chorley but not far post; and in another one on one opportunity the ball this time missed the near post. Spa goal led a charmed life as another effort from Bromsgrove struck the up right.

Eventually the pressure told as bromsgrove equalised with 10 minutes to go. Shortly after this both sides were reduced to 10 players as Bromsgrove central defender was green carded for an offence at a Penalty Corner; whilst Joe Cairns pushed a Bromsgrove player resulting in his sin binning.

Following this Spa created a further opportunity as Bromsgrove defender knocked the ball away resulting in a Penalty Corner. From the Penalty Corner Bromsgrove keeper made a save and as the ball broke to Matthew Gurr the umpire blew for an earlier infringement rather than let the play progress.
However this did not deter Spa John Phillips popped up to score. In the remaning moment of the game Bromsgrove pegged Spa back who could not break out of their own half

This was a hard earned 5th win on the bounce for Spa who travel to take on Old Halesonians who will be a stern test of their 7 match unbeaten run
