Droitwich went into their third fixture looking to get a win in a game which was to be between two competitive sides. after their second game was a walkover against Atherstone as they had pulled the side from the friendly fixture rota
Droitwich went into this fixture with a young quick side, and the game opened up very evenly as the two sides cancelled each other out during the early exchanges. Spa began to use the experience they had in the centre with Simon Blackmore and Ollie Oxley before moving the ball out wide to increase the pressure through the use of crosses.
After 12 minutes Spa scored the opening goal which came after a mele in the D and resulted in David Purchase powerful strike low past a very tall Old Sils keeper Steve Tabb.
Further chances were then created and missed as Spa failed to increase their advantage and were made to pay for this. Old Silhillians had begun to move the ball around quickly and fashioned chances. And they scored from a penalty corner.
After half time, Old Silhillians moved their better ball players into the middle of the park, and they began to hit Spa on the break, who began to tire visably in the second half and this forced them to sit deeper.
However, Edward Battin and Joe Brett did create chances but the Spa forward line were unable to take them.
Spa next game is against Berkswell and Balsall Common
