Spa vets dominated the first half deservedly went in 2-0 up at the break against Evesham.

Droitwich started this encounter quickly passing the ball from front to back and fashioning good early chances which saw the home keeper save efforts from Craig Timmis; Guy Newsom amongst others as he covered the ground in the circle to block the shots well.

Undeterred Spa kept a high press to hem the Evesham players in their half of the pitch denying them the time and space to use the ball. Droitwich opening goal arrived after a good move down the right hand side which left Guy Newsom with the simple task of sweeping the ball home. After this Evesham fashioned a couple of chances which their attackers pushed wide of the Spa goal as George Robertshaw had no real saves to make.

Further chances went a begging as Craig Timmis couldn't force the ball home from close range as their was dogged defence from the home side; nor could Spa put away any of their chances from penalty corners. As the half was drawing to a close Guy Newsom popped up in the circle to finish well with a shot buried into the right hand corner of the goal as Richard Waters ran the midfield.

Spa started the second half on the back foot, despite having the two goal cushion, giving the ball away cheaply, and from a turnover in the middle of the park, the home side prospered scoring a soft first goal. Evesham pressed higher up the pitch as Spa lost their rhythm resulting in a well taken second goal with in ten minutes of the restart. Evesham went ahead in this game after sloppy work from a hit in gifted the ball to Evesham attack who duly finished.

As Droitwich tried to push forward to fashion an equaliser the homeside remained a threat on the break, leaving the final score 3-2 to Evesham

Spa next game is against Pershore at home on Wednesday night 7.30pm pushback.
