Where is my local BtoH session?
Back to Hockey is taking place at Droitwich Spa hockey club. (Map).
The clubhouse is located at the bottom of the lane behind the Leisure Centre. There is parking behind the pavilion. The clubhouse is at the front of the pavilion. Sessions will be run on the Astroturf.

When do they take place?
Every Monday evening from June 10th 2019 (from 6:30pm -7:30pm).

How long does the programme last and what is involved?
Back to Hockey is a 6 week programme (plus 2 extra weeks). You will have the opportunity to get a bit fitter, learn new hockey skills and play team hockey in a fun and sociable environment. Team play will be in small sided teams e.g. 5 v 5 or 6 v 6 (including Walking Hockey)

I haven’t played hockey for ages, does that matter?
Not at all! Back to Hockey is for people of all standards who haven’t played recently or even at all. New people to the sport will always be welcome.

I am not very fit, does that matter?
No. There is no expectation that you will be fit. Back to Hockey coaches will take into account your level of fitness when planning and delivering each session. The activities you take part in during the session may help you improve your fitness over time.

How much does it cost?
The first session you attend is FREE! Subsequent sessions will cost £3 per week or £15 up front.

How do I book?

Wear whatever you will be comfortable playing hockey in, recognising that you will be stretching and exercising. For footwear wear standard trainers, or astro turf boots if you have a pair.

If you still have shin pads from when you previously played hockey then bring them too, but they are not essential at the start.

Do I need my own hockey stick or equipment?
No, we will provide all of the equipment. Though if you have your own stick then you are welcome to bring it.

Can I come on my own?
Yes of course. Individuals or groups of friends are all welcome.

Where do I go on arrival?
The clubhouse is at the front of the pavilion. Someone will be waiting in the clubhouse.

Are there changing facilities and toilets available?
Yes, changing and toilet facilities are available in the hockey clubhouse.

Can I get refreshments during or after the session?
We recommend that you bring your own soft drink or water with you for the drinks breaks during the session itself.
