Spa away day loss to Redditch

Redditch scored an early goal in the first half but despite all their possession could not add to their tally.
Droitwich had their opportunities in the first half with Ash Davies failing to control the ball in the circle. Andrew Rollason had another opportunity to equalise but his effort was well saved by the keeper.

After the break spa started the brighter with Lee Wakelam powering through the centre before firing the ball wide of the goal. Alexei Payne found himself in some space but screwed his effort wide
. As second half wore on the game be came scrappy and redditch were reduced to 10 players after one player not retreated 5 metres and another for breaking down the play both green cards offences

Redditch doubled their advantage from a shot at a penalty corner. Matthew Whiteside showed his experience shortly after making an excellent double save as he saved a rising with a glove save before sprawling to save the follow up effort. Shortly after a penalty corner routine for Spa came off when Payne slick hands deflected the ball home as redditch scrambled to clear the ball but it had already crossed the line.

Whiteside kept spa in it late with a far post double save as his weight was going the opposite way controlling the save before having the presence of mind to clear the ball. But redditch extended their advantage before full time.
