Lee Wakelam scored a Hatrick and Matthew Lee scored the winner as Spa came from 2-0 down to win 4-3

Droitwich Spa hockey club entertained Bromsgrove on the return leg looking to avenge the 5-2 away defeat earlier in the summer league campaign. Bromsgrove raced into a 2-0 lead with two quick strikes in the opening 7 minutes as Droitwich performance lacked composure which mirrored the first game between the two sides as Spa race into a 2 goal lead. Droitwich composure increased, however, as did the running off the ball which created spaces for passes to be picked by Tommy Ross and Andy Rollason who linked well with Ashley Davies and Lee Warkelam and the former couldn't beat the keeper when through.

Home side pressure forced a turnover enabling the prolific Lee Wakelam to rifle a shot home across the keeper finding the bottom right hand corner.

Bromsgrove were still dangerous on the break using the pace and holdup play leaving their striker with a tap but couldn't beat Robertshaw when the pull back to Gamble was on.

Spa took advantage of being let off the hook by Bromsgrove as Wakelam once more showed the killer instinct in the circle applying the finishing touches from a penalty corner to equalise

After the restart Spa started strongly once more as the defence pressurised Bromsgrove forwards who gave the ball away. Ashley Davies had a further opportunity to put Spa in front but missed the target. Midfielder Alexei Payne had a further opportunity from a penalty corner but too long to get the shot away. Matthew Lee and Joe Neal passed up more chances to give some the side the go ahead goal before lethal Wakelam got the goal with a firm low strike wrong footing the keeper to give him his 10th goal in 6 games
Back came Bromsgrove once more equalising with a quality finish.

But with 7 minutes to go Droitwich snuffed out a Bromsgrove attack and Tommy Ross won a free hit after being pushed on the edge of the circle. His quick thinking play the ball set Droitwich on a swift counter which allowed Matt Lee to power down on the Bromsgrove goal finishing into the roof of the net. Droitwich survived a last minute scare as the astro side had a Penalty Corner whose shot went wide to give the homeside the victory 4-3 and their third win of the summer league campaign.
