Spa Sucumb to Streetly

On Sunday Spa played their rearranged game from 2 weeks ago against Streetly which was rained off due to Monsoon conditions. This was Spa second game in two days following their 3-0 win at home against Wolverhampton the previous day.

Streetly started strongly passing the ball quickly and relying on the break whilst Droitwich combated this in the opening 20 minutes, having several opportunities with in the D to get efforts in on goal. but lacked that craft to take advantage of this.

Streetly however broke the deadlock with a precise finish in the opening fifteen minutes. Streetly second came from a shot with in the circle and Cameran Grant was unlucky to concede as it somehow evaded his dive. Droitwich continued to press but robust tackling kept Spa at bay for the remainder of the first half.

In the second half Streetly added a two further goals, despite Droitwich competing better in the second half with Spa using the left and right to wings looking to score. Spa best chance fell to Brett Gwillam whose flick from a penalty corner flew wide of the goal, moreover Spa got in to the circle but could not find the killer touch to get on the score sheet.

Droitwich take on relegation rivals Kingsheath Pickwick on Saturday as they look to make up the six points difference between themselves and Bromsgrove.
